Description:
A native wetland sedge with slightly flattened, bright green leaves. It grows 0.7-1m tall and spreads to form large swards. Reddish-brown spikelets in late spring/summer. Excellent habitat species for nesting birds.

Cultural Notes: Plant at the waters edge or up to 20cm deep in water. Mass plantings are recommended at a rate of 5-7 per square meter. Generally low maintenance. Can trim back by half every 2-3 years if desired. Tends to grow taller when immersed in permanent water but will tolerate intermittent swamps also. Use in constructed wetlands, damns and large ponds.
