Syringa vulgaris Congo

Common Lilac is an exotic deciduous perennial shrub or tree with a shrub-like habit. It produces purple to red flowers, adding seasonal colour to plantings. The foliage is shed in winter, revealing its branching structure. Commonly used in gardens, parks and larger landscapes, it can be planted as a specimen or in groupings for mass effect. Suitable for mixed borders or as part of a layered planting scheme. Grows to approx. 10m H.
