Description:
Large deciduous tree growing to approx 25m tall. Habit is pyramidal when young, the aging canopy is open and broadly rounded. Glossy, dark green lobed leaves turn a brilliant scarlet in autumn . Produces acorns which are bitter to taste. Widely used as a street tree, feature specimen and in large parks.
