Medium sized, self pollinating, fruiting Plum tree. Satsuma produces medium blood red skinned and fleshed fruit. Fruit is freestone, juicy and full of flavour ideal for eating fresh, preserving, stewing and juicing. A mid season variety harvesting in mid to late summer. Requires a cross pollinator to bare a good fruiting crop. Pollinators: Santa Rosa, Mariposa, Ruby Blood, Narrabeen Also available as a espalier and a dwarf.

Cultural Notes: Plant in sunny and protected position. Requires well drained soil that has a high level of organic matter. Apply an organic fertiliser late winter and mulch well. Water as required to ensure roots don't dry out. Prune in winter to an open vase shape to increase air and sun around foliage, reducing pests and diseases as well as increasing fruiting. Otherwise can be trained as an espalier. Require a cross pollinator to bare a good fruiting crop.
