Cercis siliquastrum

A spectacular flowering ornamental small tree or large shrub. The multi branched bushy tree grows to around 8m x 6m that is mostly grown for its impressive flowers. The flowers are borne in late winter early spring on the bare naked stems and branches, they are rosy-purple pea shaped that form in clusters on the stems and branches. Dark green heart-shaped foliage arrives in spring, the attractive purple tinted seed pods add an additional decorative feature into summer.
