Beta vulgaris crassa Chioggia

Chioggia beetroot is an exotic deciduous annual vegetable with a compact, clumping habit. Flowers are insignificant, and foliage forms a low mound of leafy growth. Commonly cultivated for edible use in vegetable gardens and allotments, it is suited to small-scale plantings or inclusion in mixed edible beds. Also used in kitchen gardens for seasonal harvest. Grows to approx. 0.6m H x 0.6m W.
