Description:
Commonly known as Sprenger’s Asparagus Fern, it is a fast-growing, evergreen perennial native to South Africa. Despite its common name, it is not a true fern. It features soft, feathery, needle-like foliage on arching stems and produces small white or pale pink flowers in summer, followed by bright red berries. It thrives in well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun and is often grown as an ornamental groundcover or in hanging baskets. CAUTION: This plant is a declared weed in some states and is considered highly invasive. Ensure the plant is controlled if planted and disposed of appropriately.
