Description:
Tropical perennial herb closely related to bananas, cannas and gingers. Heliconias grow from an underground system of rhizomes. They require warm and humid tropical conditions to flourish. They have large fleshy leaves and showy brightly coloured floral stems. It is recommended to remove flowers before they set seed and watch the rhizomes as they can spread and regenerate very easily.
