Description:
Bambusa ventricosa is an interesting form of Clumping Bamboo. In times of low water the stems swell in between the short internodes forming a round swollen shape and the plant is stunted in height. This is where the common name Buddha's Belly comes from. In good conditions this variety can get up to 8m tall with the culms up to 6cm in width. A great cold tolerant variety, ideal for hedging, container planting and Bonsai.
