Description:
A large bromeliad native to Brazil. This is one of the largest varieties with its base spreading up to 1.5m wide and a flower spike that can reach 2m tall. The foliage is deep green mottled, wide strap like leathery smooth leaves that form a rosette. The tall flower spikes can last on the plant for up to 12 months with pinkish red bracts and creamy yellow scented blooms. This bromeliad has one of the longest lifespans of up to 15 years and is suited to planting in containers or in ground making a grand feature and giving a very tropical look to the landscape.
