Dispatch Hand
Dispatch - Logistics

 Plantmark – one of Australia’s leading national wholesale plant nurseries – is seeking an enthusiastic Dispatch Hand to join our busy team at the main logistics hub at Wantirna.

 

Plantmark’s operations include seven Wholesale Trade Markets with sales and distribution in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.  Plantmark has been the largest trade supplier to the urban development, landscape and local government sectors for over thirty years and has established an outstanding reputation for excellence within the nursery industry.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Dispatch Manager and liaising with the Sales team, this hands-on role involves loading and unloading trucks, picking and packing plant material for orders, records administration and general coordination of incoming and outgoing greenlife stock. Nursery duties including weeding, watering, grounds maintenance and using trade equipment.

 

The position is full time, working a five-day Monday to Friday roster.  

 

Essential attributes

 

To be successful as a Plantmark Dispatch Hand, you will have:

 

  • Plant knowledge
  • Ability to effectively work unsupervised as well as in a team
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive work ethic and reliability
  • Forklift licence preferred

 

Applicants must also be capable of performing regular heavy lifting tasks and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Trade Market Manager

Key responsibilities

 

Reporting to the State Manager and working closely with the onsite Quotes and Orders Manager, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day business operations of the Plantmark Vineyard wholesale trade market.

 

The successful incumbent will lead a team of five Nursery Hands and ensure that customer and supplier relationships are nurtured, Plantmark service standards are maintained and sales targets are achieved. Management of budgets, stock supply, irrigation, employee performance and safety standards are an imperative part of the role.

 

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend responsibilities.

 

Essential attributes

 

The ideal candidate for this outstanding career opportunity will have a positive work ethic and a genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional business standards. A strong work history in horticulture and confidence with leading a team to achieve customer experience success is essential.

 

Additional competencies include:

     

  •        Knowledge of Botanical plant ID, horticultural supplies and sundries.
  •        Experience in customer service driven sales and building supplier partnerships.
  •        Understanding of the operation and maintenance of a nursery business or similar environnment.
  •        Inspirational leadership ability with demonstrated supervisory experience.
  •        Excellent communication and organisational skills
  •        Collaborative and flexible work approach.

The position is full time, working a five-day Monday to Friday roster.  Weekday business hours are: 7.00am – 5.30pm.

To be successful as a Plantmark Quotes and Orders Coordinator, you will have:

 

•       Sound knowledge and/or qualifications in horticulture.

•       Experience in sales including achieving sales targets and negotiation skills.

•       Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for customer service.
